It all starts from the ground up

Creating an everlasting bond and friendship is so important in a partner who you will ask to do things based on pure trust, love and ability.

Do you remember the first time you did something new?  The excitement, the rush and the satisfaction if it went well.  My goal is to experience something new everyday, whether it’s a new friendship, a new place or a new experience behind my camera…

I am happy to say the ongoing experience I’m going to share with you is new to myself and my daughters.  We are very excited to share this journey with you….

Meet Uno. He is our new 2 year old  Holsteiner Throughbreed  that we bought from the most excellent breeding program at  Dragon Fire Farms.   We weren’t necessarily looking for another eventing horse as my daughter Amber and her partner Patagonia have this amazing partnership but the planets aligned and we welcomed another amazing creature into our lives and we are here to share our journey with you.

Creating a bond is the most important step you can take in ensuring  you create a partnership based on love and trust.  He will be asked to do things that he is not sure of and he will do it because he loves his rider and she will only ask because she trusts her partner.

So here we are, at the beginning of our journey, taking baby steps in creating the forever bond that will take this pair to the same place she is now with her eventing partner Padi..

Early  November 2018  I was on my way to bed and a video of  Uno crossed over my Facebook page,  He caught my immediate attention.  We were  not looking for another horse  but the planets aligned that night and  I truly believe that all things happen for a reason.  We got to meet Uno the following week and fell in love.   We have been making the trip to where Uno is  living and are able to be hands-on with part of his training.

Over the course of the last month we have been able to deepen the connection and trust allowing us to experience these firsts together.

First experience:  The immediate connection.  The eyes don’t lie,  it was love at first sight for both of them. Being first to sit on and walk him around on a lead line with his trusted friend and trainer Jen.

Another first experience, first time trotting her brand new baby without incident. I can only imagine the excitement they were feeling because I felt it on the other side of the fence through my camera.

It was so fun to watch Uno jump over poles like he’s been doing it for years.  He had that fun and so willing attitude

He now has a tack trunk, brushes, boots, halters in front of his stall.  He now has his person  to call his own,  Look how he follows her and is happy just to have a friend.

We are blessed….
